We are a homebrew club based in Akron, OH that meets monthly to discuss homebrew styles, techniques, recipes, activities, and equipment. We try to have a local brewer or members of our club give lectures on beer and brewing related topics. More importantly, we meet to share our homemade brews. We find that by sampling many beers and talking with other homebrewers, everyone learns about making exceptional beer. We try to have a lot of socializing at each meeting. About 25-35 people attend a typical meeting which is held at a variety of venues. Check the events list to see where we are having upcoming meetings.

In addition to our regular meetings, we have a annual summer picnic, brewery tours, pub crawls, Iron Brewer competition, Wizard of SAAZ (BJCP sanctioned competition) and other fun activities. We also have bi-monthly competitions, which build to the prestigious “HBOS” award (Home Brewer Of the Season). We publish a monthly newsletter, The SAAZanian which is distributed one week prior to each meeting to members via email. As members, SAAZainians also receive a 10% discount at The Grape and Granary one of the finest homebrew shops around and a sponsor of the club.

Dues for the club renew each September and are $15 for single, $25 for couple.

Events are held at:

Saint Thomas Eastern Orthodox Church

So if you are a homebrewer or someone looking to get started in brewing, drop us a line and stop by for one of our meetings, you’ll be glad you did, and so will we. After all, there will be more beer to drink!
